Fishing season is the last Saturday in April through July 31st. As of August 1st through November 15th only artificial lures may be used.  Minimum size limit: 18 inches total length.

Crowley Lake is one of the only locations in the Eastern Sierra where visitors can drive up to the water’s edge. With a shoreline that adds up to 45 miles, fishing, boat rentals, and seasonal watersports including waterskiing and wakeboarding are popular with anglers and sightseers.

Crowley Lake is the focal point of Mono County's fishing season opening day, and its marina stays busy from late spring into fall.

About 700,000 years ago massive volcanic eruptions flattened a volcano and sent hot ash and debris pouring down to the Owens Valley.  In more recent times the area was a vast meadowland, until 1941 when the City of Los Angeles built the Long Valley Dam and created Crowley Lake.
